Dr. O'Brien's research focuses on fundamental and translational studies of the mechanisms and treatments paradigms for atherosclerosis - particularly the novel anti-atherosclerotic effects of Heat Shock Protein 27 and its exciting role in modulating serum and plaque cholesterol levels, as well as inflammation.
