As a medical doctor specialized in musculoskeletal disorders, I initially worked as a physician in Italy before starting my research career at the Centre of Clinical Research Excellence in Spine Pain at the University of Queensland in Australia. My expertise in assessing the morphology and function of the lumbar spine enabled me to collaborate with the Space Medicine Team (ESA HRE-OM) on multiple projects aimed at investigating lumbar spine deconditioning in reduced gravity. In parallel, I have been working at the Center for Neuroplasticity and Pain in Denmark, where my research focused on investigating the neuroplastic effects of pain and testing innovative applications of neuromodulatory techniques. My research and clinical work are rooted in musculoskeletal physiopathology, focusing on body deconditioning and chronic pain, and always with an integrative physiology approach and determined to investigate innovative treatments.
