Research interests include Low-Light-Level modeling and the incorporation of LiDAR and physics-based modeling into hyperspectral sub-pixel detection algorithms. Investigated and published on approaches to geometric and stochastic spectral target detection as well as improvements to the physics-based modeling approach, as it pertains to the development of
spectral target spaces and imaging spectroscopy. He has also published on the impact spectral endmember selection has on target detection and spectral variability. Recently doing shadow detection, atmospheric & radiative transfer modeling, scattering from small particles related to bio-aerosols, long-wave spectral variability, remote sensing instrumentation and sensor calibration, atmospheric compensation and spectral BRDF measurements.
