Elizabeth S. Sooby received the B.S. degree in physics from the Millsaps College, in 2008, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in materials physics from Texas A&M University, in 2011 and 2014, respectively. She is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Physics and Astronomy, The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), with a joint appointment at the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Prior to UTSA, she was a Staff Scientist II with the Los Alamos National Laboratory, where she completed a Seaborg Postdoctoral Fellowship. Her research interest includes high-temperature materials synthesis and thermal analysis for nuclear energy applications, specifically advanced fuel fabrication and characterization.
