Hematologist at the Brazilian National Cancer Institute, Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Unit (CEMO). CEMO is performing about a hundred hematopoietic stem cell transplantations per year, for the treatment of both benign and malignant hematological diseases. The transplantation procedures includes both autologous and allogeneic transplantations, this last category ranging from sibling and non-siblling transplantations (bone marrow, peripheral blood and umbilical cord). In my work there I follow patients both at the Transplantation Unit and at the Day Hospital. Most of my research is performed in CEMO, mainly in the fields of aplastic anemia and GVHD prevention.
