E. N. Popova

Elena Popova was born in Sverdlovsk, Russia, in 1951. She received the bachelor's degree in physics of metals from the Ural Polytechnic Institute, Ekaterinburg, Russia, in 1973, and the Ph.D. and Doctor of Technical Sciences degrees in metallurgy and heat treatment of metals from the Institute of Metal Physics, Ural Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, Ekaterinburg, Russia, in 1988 and 2009, respectively. She is currently a Leading Researcher with the M. N. Mikheev Institute of Metal Physics, Ural Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences. She has authored two monographs and over 70 papers. Her research interests include the study of structure and properties of various functional materials with special properties, superconducting and high-strength composites, phase transformations, and metals and alloys nanostructured by various methods of severe plastic deformation.
