He has vast expertise in in-situ elemental and isotopic analysis using Electron Probe Micro Analyser (EPMA), Laser Ablation – Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICPMS) and Laser Ablation-Multi Collector ICPMS (LA-MC-ICPMS). Dr. Babu also teaches undergraduate, postgraduate students as well as entry-level to mid-career level geoscientists in advanced fields of mineralogy, petrology and geochemistry at several academic and other R&D institutions. He is currently Project Leader and Activity-in-Charge of the Geochronology & Isotope Studies at the CSIR-NGRI. He also serves on several national committees that include National Centre for Mineral Targeting (NCMT), Ministry of Mines, Government of India, Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
