Eduardo Medeiros

Dr. Eduardo Alexandrino Servolo Medeiros (Medeiros EA or Medeiros EAS) is Professor of the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, Universidade Federal de São Paulo (Unifesp) and Head of Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at the Hospital São Paulo, Unifesp. Dr. Medeiros received his medical degree (1985), completed his Infectious Diseases Residency (1989), fellowship, PhD (1993) and joined the Paulista Medicine School, Unifesp, as Professor of Infectious Diseases (2004-Present). He works on healthcare-associated infections includes investigations of nosocomial outbreaks, antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobial stewardship, COVID-19, occupational health and medical education. He is the author of several research and reviewed papers including book chapters and has received several awards for his work. He is currently an active member of many professional and governmental organizations including: President of São Paulo Infectious Diseases Society (2017-2020), Member of Brazilian Infectious Diseases Society, advisor to the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa) and Hospital Infection Committee of São Paulo Epidemiological Surveillance Center, member of Infectious Disease Society of America. Researcher and leader of the Group of Research of Hospital Epidemiology of the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), Ministry of Science and Technology, Brazil.
