Erin Damsteegt

I'm an early career researcher interested in the molecular and endocrinological control of reproduction in fish. My current work at the University of Otago is two pronged. Using state-of-the-art gene expression analyses and comparative biochemical approaches I have been exploring both the lipid dynamics during maturation in freshwater eels and the drivers of semelparity in salmonids. I recently completed a London-based Post-Doc investigating pancreatic beta cell survival in Type 2 diabetes.
