个人简介
Deuk Yong Lee’s Laboratory, namely Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Laboratory, provides an academic environment where Daelim students and researchers can learn and develop the engineering skills and attitudes necessary to become great innovators throughout the course of their career. The laboratory is suitably setup to study engineering sciences in relation to Matter and Health Care with broader economic and sociological impact on “biomedical convergence engineering”.
Deuk Yong Lee is professor of the biomedical engineering department at Daelim University. Prior to joining Daelim University in March 1992, he was graduate associate of the Materials Science and Engineering department at Arizona State University (ASU). He graduated from Yonsei University, Korea, in 1984 and received his MS and PhD from The University of Texas at Austin (UT) and ASU in 1986 and 1991, respectively. His industrial experience includes head of research institute at CMKor Inc. (2000~2005) and senior research scientist at Acucera (2000~2009), Korea.
His research interests are in a broad spectrum of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering. He has authored/co-authored more than 500 technical publications including 221 referred journal papers and has received 1 US patent and 12 Korea patents. He is a recipient of the 1999 Researcher Award (Daelim U.), the 2000/2018/2019 Achievement Awards (Daelim U.), the 2004 Research Achievement Award from the Korea Ceramic Society and the 2019 Distinguished Scholar Award from the Korean Society of Medical & Biological Engineering. He received a commendation from the Minister of SMEs and Startups (2017) and a commendation from the Prime Minister of Korea (2020).
