Deogratias Ruhangaza

Dr. Deogratias Ruhangaza graduated at School of Medicine/ National University of Rwanda in 2008. After his graduation, he worked as a General Practitioner at different public Hospitals in Rwanda, including the University Teaching Hospital of Kigali (CHUK), before joining a residency program in Pathology at Muhimbili University in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. He is currently a pathologist and Head of Department of Pathology at Butaro Cancer Centre of Excellence in Northern Rural Rwanda. He has been actively involved in drafting the Rwanda National Cancer Control Plan and he is a member of National Cancer Registry Advisory Committee at Ministry of Health/Rwanda. He is the president-elect of Rwanda Society of Pathologists (RSP) and a member of regional pathology organisations. He is academically involved as supervisor and internal examiner for residents in Pathology at University of Rwanda as well as a lecturer (Pathology) at the Division of Basic Medical Sciences, MBBS program/University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) in Rwanda. His research interest include GI Cancer, Breast Cancer and Haematological malignancies.
