个人简介
Dennis T. Norton Jr. received his B.S. degree in Physics and
Mathematics from Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL, in 2007. He received his Ph.D. degree in physics from the
University of Iowa, in 2013. There he carried out research on the development of infrared light-emitting diodes based
on type-II InAs/GaSb superlattice active regions. While pursuing his Ph.D., he worked as a research scientist for ASL
Analytical, Coralville, IA, developing an infrared spectroscopy system for monitoring bioreactor processes in
real-time. There he fabricated and characterized infrared detectors, superluminescent diodes, and tunable lasers based
on III-V materials.
He is currently a System Engineer at Santa Barbara Infrared, Santa Barbara, CA, where he is developing infrared
scene projectors based on multiple-quantum well and interband cascade infrared light-emitting diode arrays. Prior to
joining Santa Barbara Infrared, Dr. Norton was a Research Associate of the National Research Council at Eglin Air
Force Base, FL. There he developed infrared light-emitting diodes with spectral emission covering the entire
3–5μ waveband, and established an infrared optoelectronic characterization, experimental test-bed to support
characterization of both infrared emitters and detectors.
