Deborah Mindry

Deborah Mindry is a Research Anthropologist with UCGHI’s Women’s Health, Gender and Empowerment Center of Expertise. Her research interests include gender politics, NGOS and development, and HIV/AIDS. Her research examines HIV, reproductive health and gender dynamics in South Africa (Durban), Malawi (Lilongwe and Nkhoma), Uganda (Kampala) and USA (Los Angeles). She is currently working on a book manuscript, “I am HIV: Ordinary people daring to live and make change in South Africa” which challenges conceptions of Africans as victims of HIV and examines the complex realities of people living with HIV, their determination to survive and to make change in their communities. www.thequalitativescientist.com
