His research has focused on biomedical image analysis including quantification and visualization of disease in clinical and preclinical models, as well as quantitative evaluation of image quality. Tools used include image registration, image segmentation, machine learning, etc. Particularly to serve cancer and stem cell imaging, he developed the cryo-imaging system and software, which enables 3D, color anatomical and fluorescence molecular, microscopic imaging of vast tissues as large as a mouse.
