David Alexander Anderson (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in physics from Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA, in 2006, and the M.S.E. degree in electrical engineering and computer science and the Ph.D. degree in applied physics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, 2011 and 2015, respectively.
He is a Physicist and Inventor, and a Founder of Rydberg Technologies Inc., a development and manufacturing Company for atom-based RF sensing technology and quantum-enabled devices. The Company is an industry leader in atom-based RF electric field sensing, measurement and imaging, atomic receivers, and communications technology, with core expertise in next-generation quantum-enabled devices and instrumentation, atom-optical and photonics-based tools, and gas cell technology. He has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and patents on various topics in quantum, atomic and measurement physics, atom-based electromagnetic field sensing, and receiver technology. He serves as the Company’s CEO and CTO. He is also a Visiting Researcher with the Department of Physics, University of Michigan. His interests cover atom-field interactions, Rydberg atoms, cold and thermal plasmas, and their application to new sensing and measurement methods and quantum technologies, integrated miniaturized photonics and quantum technology engineering, and supporting manufacturing process development.
Dr. Anderson is a member of the American Physical Society (APS), the Optical Society (OSA), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
