David Elata (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from Ben-Gurion University, Israel, in 1986, and the M.Sc. and D.Sc. degrees in mechanical engineering from the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology in 1989 and 1993, respectively. He joined the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Technion, in 1996. His research interests include modeling and design of MEMS actuators, and the development of novel concepts for MEMS devices. He has been serving on the MEMS community as an Editor for the IEEE Journal of Micrelectromechanical Systems since 2008, a Senior Editor for IEEE Sensors Letters since 2017, and he has been serving as a member of the TPCs for leading conferences in the field.
