David B. Knight received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, USA, in 2006 and 2009, respectively, the M.U.E.P. degree from the University of Virginia, and the Ph.D. degree in higher education from Pennsylvania State University, State College, PA, USA, in 2012. He is an Associate Professor and an Assistant Department Head of Graduate Programs with the Department of Engineering Education, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA, where he is also the Director of Research of the Academy for Global Engineering, and is an affiliate faculty with the Higher Education Program. His research tends to be at the macro-scale, focused on a systems-level perspective of how engineering education can become more effective, efficient, and inclusive, tends to be data driven by leveraging large-scale institutional, state, or national data sets, and considers the intersection between policy and organizational contexts.
