Daniel Gregoire

I have over 10 years of experience conducting scientific research in the academic, private, and public sectors. My research has focussed on examining the role that microbes play in determining the fate of contaminants in aquatic ecosystems and has recently expanded to include advancing Canadian policies on open science. Currently, I am working as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo where I will be using 'omics (total DNA, RNA and proteins) and microbial physiology experiments to study the cycling of contaminants in landfills and mining sites. My ultimate goal is to use the expertise I have acquired through research and my passion for entrepreneurship to develop my own research program focussed on creating bioremediation strategies for the natural resource sector.
