Daan Crommelin

Daan Crommelin received the Ph.D. degree from Utrecht University, Utrecht, The Netherlands, in 2003. Before joining Centrum Wiskunde and Informatica, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in 2006, he worked as Postdoctoral with New York University's Courant Institute. He is currently a Leader of the Scientific Computing research group with Centrum Wiskunde and Informatica, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and a Professor with the Korteweg-de Vries Institute for Mathematics, University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. His research interests include stochastic and computational methods for multiscale dynamical systems, uncertainty quantification, rare event simulation, statistical inference, applications in atmosphere-ocean-climate science, and energy networks.
