My research is on adaptation to climate change, ecosystem function, and conservation and management of floodplains and forests. I also work on the systematics of oribatid mites and the relationships between people and environment. I am a founding member of TARA, the Transformative Adaptation Research Alliance, a global network of researchers and practitioners dedicated to changing the way that people think and act to adapt to global change.
