个人简介
I obtained my MSc and PhD in Biological Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires, working on the sensory biology of kissing bugs, vectors of Chagas disease. I spent a couple of years at the Biocybernetics laboratory of the University of Tübingen in Germany studying insect vision. Back in my country, I occupied positions at the University of Buenos Aires and CONICET (Argentina) until 2003, when I moved to France and joined the Institut de Recherche sur la Biologie de l’Insecte (IRBI) as a full professor of the University of Tours. I keep strong collaborative bonds with Argentinean and Brazilian laboratories, being an honorary professor of the University of Buenos Aires. I am interested in the behavioural physiology of insects and my main research models are disease vectors, in particular mosquitoes and kissing-bugs. My research focuses on the study of the adaptations of arthropods to the haematophagous way of life, employing an integrative approach that combines functional morphology, physiology, molecular biology and quantitative behavioural analyses.
