Claudia Silva

Claudia C. Silva has finished her Ph.D thesis, which was Aproved with Distinction, with support from Instituto Politécnico do Porto, at the University of Porto, Portugal, titled “Postural control function associated with upper limb performance in post stroke subjects”. Her work has been focused on post-stroke management and the development of novel patient-centered intervention strategies. Obtained the title of Specialist in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation – Physiotherapy, in 2012, through public defenses. Obtained her M.Sc. in Sports Science - Adapted Physical Activity, with final thesis related to Olympic sports risks in disabled population. She graduated with a B.Sc. in Physical Therapy from Escola Superior de Tecnologias da Saúde do Instituto Politécnico do Porto (ESTSP-IPP) – Portugal, where she developed final thesis in post-stroke rehabilitation, namely the influence of a home-based educacional program in functional outcomes. Holds the position of Professor at ESS.PP, in Neurology and Pediatrics fields (both undergraduated and post-graduated courses). Clinical practice supervisor / Adviser of undergraduate and post-graduated physiotherapy students. Obtained advanced training in adult neurological rehabilitation provided by the International Bobath Instructors Training Association and in children neurological rehabilitation provided by European Bobath Tutors Association. 20+ years of clinical practice experience. With dozens of presentations at national and international meetings, has also published several articles in international journals.
