The research undertaken in my research unit ( Eco&Sols) aims at improving the understanding of the role of soil organisms and plants and the interactions between them and their environment in biogeochemical cycles - mainly C, N and P cycles - within soils and agroecosystems.
More precisely , my group works on two main topics that are (i) how ectomycorrhizal fungi are able to improve the mineral (N and P) nutrition of their host plant. During the last decade, we focused on the comprehension of molecular mechanisms responsible for P efflux from the fungal cell towards the host cell. (ii) how it is possible to enhance the use of soil organic P by studying different strategies such as bringing recombinant enzymes or using trophic relationships.
Our research should bring new knowledge to use soil organisms, either associated with the roots or living in their environment, in a way able to improve mineral nutrition of plants in forests or agro ecosystems and to cope with environmental changes.
