My PhD thesis was entitled 'The development of molecular tools to enhance understanding of antiviral RNAi in mosquitoes'. Now in my first post doc, I aim to develop genetic tools in Ae aegypti mosquitoes and their cell lines to recognise the contribution of tissue-specific RNAi antiviral strategies and the degree of crosstalk between the defence pathways and different mosquito tissues during arboviral infections in order to discern the mechanisms involved in vector competence.
