Christine Skibola

Dr. Skibola was a Professor of Epidemiology and Endowed Chair of Oncology in the Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Alabama, Birmingham until 2016. After receiving a MS and PhD in Environmental Health Sciences with an emphasis in toxicology and genomics at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, Dr. Skibola remained as a faculty there until she was recruited to UAB in 2012. Her main research focused on international epidemiological studies of lymphoma. Dr. Skibola is interested in the role of diet, lifestyle and mind-body practices in the prevention and treatment of cancer and other chronic diseases. Her interests expand to the role of cannabis in the treatment of cancer symptoms and chemotherapy side effects, and its role in alleviating symptoms of other chronic diseases.
