Present research interests concerns functions of trace elements in health and disease, and molecular toxicology of environmental contaminants. Current research interests include:
(1) the roles of zinc and zinc-transporters in (a) development, (b) diabetes, (c) lipid metabolism, (d) epigenetic programming, and (e) gut epithelium maintenance
(2) regulation of dietary trace element uptake
(3) in vitro methods to assess toxicity and bioaccumulation of waterborne contaminants.
