Chris Richter

I completed an MSc in sports and sport engineering at the TU Chemnitz in 2010 and a PhD within CLARITY at DCU in 2013. Within my PhD, I examined why findings across studies are often inconsistent. I continued my PhD work within INSIGHT as a postdoc and joined the SSC in May 2015. I have worked on various projects that examined performance and injury factors in human movements, use of IMUs for biomechanics as well as projects examining data mining and machine learning in sports. The application of machine learning to identify performance and risk factors, the interpretation and visualisation of findings are a major interest of myself – as I seeks to improve the understanding of human movements and the flow of knowledge between researcher-coach-athlete and researcher-clinician-patient.
