His research is on condensed matter theory, with a focus on finding the microscopic origins of novel physical properties of correlated electron systems by means of spectroscopic tools, especially angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy. He has authored/coauthored about 170-peer-reviewed papers, including 3 Science, 5 Nature Materials and 25 Physical Review Letters.
