Costanza Bonadonna currently works at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Geneva. Her main research interests include characterization of tephra deposits, ash dispersal modelling, characterization of eruption source parameters, probability assessment of volcanic hazards, plume dynamics and particle sedimentation. She is also active in the assessment of vulnerability in the context of volcanic risk and in the linkage between model development and risk assessment and mitigation in the effort of bridging the gap between scientists and non-scientists (e.g. emergency management planners, government officials)
