Heijs Bram

My name is Bram Heijs, I'm groupleader at the Center for Proteomics and Metabolomics of the Leiden University Medical Center in the field of mass spectrometry imaging. During my time as a PhD student at the Center for Proteomics and Metabolomics at the Leiden University Medical Center (Leiden, NL) the main focus of my research was the development of sample preparation methods for in-situ digestion MALDI mass spectrometry imaging analyses. As a post-doc in the Dreisewerd lab at Muenster University Hospital I worked on the implementation of MALDI-2 on a timsTOF fleX instrument, and applying it for the analysis of N-linked glycans. Currently my researchgroup is improving epigenetic MSI by high-resolving power MSI, single-cell characterization by MSI, and applying those to solve questions in cell biology and clinical research.
