Bio
Dr. Pone Kamdem Boniface obtained his Ph.D. in Science (Minor: Biotechnology, and Bioinformatics) from Jawaharlal Nehru University (India) with Dr. Anirban Pal (Oct. 2011-Dec. 2014) under TWAS-CSIR fellowship. This was followed by postdoctoral stints at the Institute of Chemistry of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) as a CAPES Fellow with Profs. Carlos Roland Kaiser and Sabrina Baptista Ferreira (March 2015-March 2017), and at the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) as a FAPESP Research Fellow with Prof. Elizabeth Igne Ferreira (Nov. 2017-Dec. 2021). Since Jan. 2022, he has been working as a Research Assistant with Prof. Fabrice Fekam Boyom at the AntiMicrobial & Biocontrol Agents Unit, Laboratory for Phytobiochemistry & Medicinal Plants Studies, Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science and University of Yaounde 1. In April 2023, he began to work as a Lecturer (part-time) at the Higher Institute of Agriculture, Forestry, Water and Environment (HIAFWE), University of Ebolowa, Cameroon. He has active collaborations with Prof. Lebogang Maureen Kataka-Seru's research group from the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science Innovation & Modelling Research Focus Area, School of Physical and Chemical Sciences, Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, and North-West University (South Africa), Prof. Elizabeth Igne Ferreira's and Prof. Carlos Roland Kaiser's groups, and many other Scientists from the Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (India). He is the Scientific Editor of the Journal of Pharmaceutical Research International and Reviewer of several SCI Journals. His research focuses on the development of natural and synthetic products (i.e. flavonoids, coumarins, among others) with potential application in medicine (antibacterial, antifungal and antiparasitic drug discovery) and agriculture (prospection of biofertilizers), as well as water treatment (biological treatment and toxicity assessment).
