Birgitta Janerot-Sjoberg

Birgitta Janerot-Sjoberg was appointed professor of medical technology at the Karolinska Institutet in 2010. She currently heads the division of Medical Imaging and Technology, affiliated with the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and has a combined position as senior consultant in Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine at the Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm. In 1993, she presented a doctoral dissertation on aortic valvular flow at Linköping University, and since then has focused research on thoracic bed-side functional imaging, simulations, and experimental work including microbubbles and optimization of cardiovascular ultrasound contrast applications.
