Bharathi Balasundaram

I am a Senior Consultant (Old Age Psychiatry), Department of Psychological Medicine, Changi General Hospital, Singapore. My academic interests include dementia, delirium, physical and mental health interface in older adults and late-life mental disorders. I am involved in quality improvement activities, particularly in delirium, dementia and patient safety. I represent the department as a QI ambassador. I am the current chair of the hospital's medication safety committee and I am involved in hospital wide medication safety improvement initiatives. As a clinical assistant professor with DUKE-NUS, I am involved in educational activities. I was the former DUKE-NUS undergraduate programme coordinator for the department of Psychological Medicine. I am one of the clinical leads for the hospital's inpatient delirium domain of the delirium and dementia taskforce. My postgraduate training in Old Age Psychiatry was in the UK and I worked in the National Health Service as a Consultant prior to moving to Singapore.
