1. Relationship between obesity and asthma. We will start with an intervention study investigating the effect of steroid withdrawal in patients with asthma and obesity. 2. Inflammatory processes in different phenotypes of asthma. 3. Immunosenescence, aging of the lung, is another topic of interest. We compare different asthma populations with controls matched for age and look at the effect of age of asthma onset on disease control, activity level, co-morbidity, inflammation and lung function.
