S Avino

Saverio Avino received the Laurea degree (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) (cum laude) in physics and the Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Naples “Federico II,” Naples, Italy, in 2003 and 2007, respectively. Since 2009, he has been a Research Scientist with the CNR-National Institute of Optics (INO), Naples, Italy. He has authored more than 70 papers published in international refereed journals, one patent, and more than 40 conference contributions presented at international conferences and meetings. His research interests include experimental gravitation, high-precision laser interferometry, control systems, and adaptive optics, and also include optical frequency combs for physical and chemical sensing; strain, acceleration, temperature, and radiation sensors based on optical fiber resonators; chemical sensing and spectroscopy with fiber-loop and whispering gallery mode resonators; and plasmonics.
