Antonia Ho

I am a clinical epidemiologist and infectious disease physician. My research focus is on the epidemiology of influenza infection and other respiratory viruses in Southern Africa and UK. I have undertaken several large observational studies characterising influenza disease burden, risk factors for severe presentation, and viral-bacterial interactions in Malawi and UK. I am involved in national influenza vaccine guideline development. My current research focuses on the use of next generation sequencing techniques for respiratory viral diagnosis and the development of optimal preventative strategies to reduce the burden of acute respiratory infections in low-and-middle-income countries.
