Dr. Durkin’s research interests emphasize the development and application of technology for quantitative, in vivo optical spectroscopy and functional imaging in superficial tissues such as skin . The focus of this work is on development of new methods for understanding processes such as dysplasia, malignancy, and wound healing in addition to providing feedback for optimizing therapies, including applications of medical laser technology.
