Antonio Quintela

Antonio Quintela received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Cantabria, Santander, Spain, in 2006. Since 2011, he has been an Associate Professor (Profesor Titular de Universidad) in the Photonics Engineering Group (GIF), Department of Electronic Technology, Industrial Automation and System Engineering, University of Cantabria, with both teaching and R&D duties. His scientific contributions include 19 papers in peer-review JCR journals, 95 works presented at peer-reviewed conferences, and 3 patent applications. He has been enrolled in 17 research projects funded by the European Union, Spanish, and Local Government, including 24 research contracts with local and national private companies. His research interests include writing of fiber Bragg gratings, long period grating, micromachining optical fiber, and fabrication of optical transducers based on these devices.
