Anja Knoll-Gellida

Dr Anja Knoll-Gellida, PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, is currently assistant professor at the University of Bordeaux. Her research work is focused on lipid metabolism. During her PhD (Laboratory of membrane biogenesis, University of Bordeaux, 1996-2000), she studied the metabolism of very long chain fatty acids in rat nervous system. Thereafter, her research concerned several studies of zebrafish and trout transcriptome. Actually, she uses the zebrafish as a model of different human orphan genetic diseases linked to lipid metabolism and studies the effect of acute and neuropathic poisoning by organophosphates.
