Professor Andy C. L. Yeung is Chair Professor of Operations Management and currently Head of Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research interests are Quality Management, Process Certifications and Operations and Supply Chain Management in general. Professor Yeung conducted research on the benefits and drawbacks of business certifications. His papers in this area are published in Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management and Organization Science. He takes a behavioral perspective on the development, widespread diffusion and bureaucratization of operational practices and seeks to understand the fundamental causes of organizational inefficiency. Before joining PolyU, Professor Yeung worked as a Certification Officer at SGS (Hong Kong) Limited, the large inspection and certification body in the world, and he obtained his PhD from the University of Hong Kong. Currently, he is an associated editor of Journal of Operations Management and a Panel Member (Business) of the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong.
