As the Executive Chair of the Association of Cancer Physicians (ACP) at the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), I represent and support medical oncologists in the UK, providing education, mentoring, and knowledge to enhance their career aspirations. I have over 19 years of experience as a Fellow of the RCP, serving in various roles and committees, including the RCP Inequalities in Health Alliance, which campaigns for a cross-government strategy to reduce health disparities.

I am a Professor and a globally recognized expert in breast cancer research and integrated cancer care models. I have published over 300 papers in leading healthcare journals, and co-founded the Manchester Breast Centre and the Manchester Cancer Research Centre. I established international collaborations with the learning cancer system I created, leading to major advances in breast cancer treatments improving outcomes and quality of life for patients. As a clinical entrepreneur and a cross-sector leader, I founded Cancer Services UK in 2020, a company that aims to improve cancer care across the UK, working collaboratively through innovation with the NHS, academia, life-science partners and patients. My mission is to change the way the systems think, act, and operate, providing holistic, patient-centred, and research-driven care equally accessible to all.
