Although my PhD is in Clinical Psychology, the areas of my expertise are cardiovascular disease, endocrinology and disorders of the central nervous system. My research has focused on examining bio-behavioral risk factors and genetic markers that may contribute to race and gender differences in the development and treatment of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. I have advanced skills as project leader and scientific author and see myself as a supportive mentor, excellent communicator and creative problem solver.
