Amaia Ruiz De Alegria-Arzaburu

After finishing her PhD in Coastal Morphodynamics at the University of Plymouth (UK) in 2010, Amaia moved to Mexico as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Engineering of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Since 2012 she is a Research Scientist at the Institute of Oceanographic Research in the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) located in Ensenada (Baja California, México). Since 2013 is Level 1 of the National Research System (SNI) of CONACyT. She has lead many national (SENER-CONACyT, Ciencia Básica-CONACyT, INFR-CONACyT, SEP-PRODEP, internal UABC) and international (UC-MEXUS) research projects, involving nearshore hydrodynamics, beach morphodynamics and sediment transport processes. She has supervised 2PhD, 11 MSc and 2 BSc thesis (national and international), is currently supervising 3 PhD students, and is author/coauthor of 30 peer reviewed research articles with around 450 citations (ORCID:0000-0002-3872-1757; Scopus:21734550500).
