Arthur M. Feldman, MD, PhD, has been appointed Executive Dean of Temple University School of Medicine and Chief Academic Officer of Temple University Health System effective September 1, 2011. Previously, he served as the Magee Professor and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Jefferson Medical College. As Executive Dean, Dr. Feldman will be responsible for providing strategic development for the School of Medicine's academic mission, including its alignment with the clinical mission of the healthcare enterprise and its collaboration with other schools, colleges and centers within the University. He will also ensure that its research enterprise emphasizes translational research that is well integrated with all patient-centered clinical services. In his capacity as Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Feldman will provide administrative oversight for Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs, ensuring compliance with all accreditation requirements and the integration of residency training programs with undergraduate medical education programs and faculty educational development.
