Bio
In September of 2018, I completed my PhD in Biochemistry at University of Aveiro (UA). My PhD was supported by a Grant from an European Research Council (ERC) project intitled, IgY Technology: A Purification Platform using Ionic-Liquid-Based Aqueous Biphasic Systems. During my PhD, from January 2015 to March 2015, I was a trainee at Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon, France. From October 2018 to March 2019, I was a post-doctoral researcher involved in the same International Project from the ERC, at UA, now focused on the developed technologies scale-up. In October of 2018, I was a visiting researcher at Université de Reims Champagne Ardenne ¿ Institut de Chimie Moléculaire de Reims, France, working on ionic liquids synthesis. This action was supported by Ação Integrada, PESSOA-PHC 2018/2019/FCT. From April 2019 to January 2022, I was a researcher involved in the development of new platforms for the purification of L-Asparaginase, an antileukemic biopharmaceutical of current high-cost (NanoPuASp project, POCI-01-0145-FEDER-031268). In June 2019, I was a visiting researcher at Université de Reims Champagne Ardenne, supported by Ação Integrada, PESSOA-PHC 2018/2019/FCT. Moreover, from October to November 20219, I was a visiting researcher in School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, UNESP, Araraquara, Brazil, under a mission of NanoPurAsp project. Since February 2022 I'm a researcher in ITQB-NOVA focus on the biochemical characterization of metalloproteins, and protein-proteins interactions, namely of repair of iron clusters proteins or heme proteins. Since 2014, I published 29 articles in international peer reviewed journals and 6 book chapters, demonstrating my commitment to science. Besides my publications, during my PhD an efficient technology to purify Immunoglobulin Y (IgY) was developed and an international patent (WO 2020/058937 A1) application was filled. With the aim to promote my research work over the world, I participated in several national/international meetings, contributing with 30 oral and more than 50 poster communications. During the past years, I was the supervisor of 9 BSc final projects and co-supervisor of 4 MSc theses, and collaborated in the supervision of 4 MSc theses and 1 BSc final project.
