Alexei D. Kiselev graduated from National Research University of Information Technologies,Mechanics and Optics (former Leningrad Institute of Fine Mechanics and Optics) in 1985 (MSc degree in Quantum Electronics, St. Petersburg, Russia), received his PhD degree in Theoretical Physics (Candidate of Phys.-Math. Sciences) from St. Petersburg (former Leningrad) State University (Russia) in 1990 and his DSc degree in Theoretical Physics (Doctor of Phys.-Math. Sciences) after defending the thesis "Mie Scattering and Orientational Structures in Liquid Crystal Systems Induced by Surface Elasticity and Conformal Transformations" at Taras Shevchenko Kiev National University(Kiev, Ukraine) in 2004. Until 2005 he was working as a Professor of Dept. of Pure and Appl. Math. at Chernigov State Technol. Univ. (Chernigov, Ukraine). After that he was a Principal Research Fellow at Institute of Physics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kiev, Ukraine). Starting from 2015 he is with Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies,Mechanics and Optics. His current position is a Professor at the Department of Mathematics.
