Alexander Fletcher

Clinical Lecturer and paediatric trainee at University of Glasgow following a career path in academic congenital cardiology. Research interests focus on understanding disease drivers and mechanisms in patients with congenital heart disease. Undergraduate degrees in Neuroscience (2011) and MBChB (2013) at University of Dundee. PhD awarded at University of Edinburgh (2022). Building off work performed during PhD, current research investigates role of fibrosis and calcification in driving congenital heart disease in children and young adults using a combination of basic science and non-invasive advanced imaging techniques (PET and MRI).
