个人简介
I am an interdisciplinary scientist leveraging geometric patterns of biological form to enhance understanding of biological function. It is my passion to develop, test, and teach first principles theories of fundamental biological phenomena as a scientist at the cross-section of physics, mathematics, and biology. I am motivated by data-driven questions that probe our understanding of critical transitions in the origins of life and the stages of growth and development.
My work has examined how variations in vascular branching architecture: inform organismal metabolism, distinguish mammalian cardiovasculature from plant branching architecture, and how these patterns appear in lung cancer tumor supply vessels. I am currently working at the intersection of vascular and cellular biology by examining vessel growth and pattern formation in cancers, fortified with experimental and clinical imaging data.
