Alessandro Bruno received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in aerospace engineering from the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, in 2012 and 2015, respectively. He received an Honors Student Diploma and a Graduate Honors Student Diploma from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Pisa, Italy, in 2013 and 2016, after a coursework focused on robot mechanics. As an Honors Student, he held a full engineering scholarship from 2009 to 2016. He was a Summer Intern at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA, USA, in 2012 and 2013, where he performed research on piezoelectric materials and flight dynamics. He developed his M.S. thesis in collaboration with General Electric Oil&Gas, Florence, Italy, working on the failure assessment of brazed joints. From October 2015 to July 2016, he was an Engineering Trainee with the Broader Fusion Development Department, Fusion for Energy, Garching, Germany, where he worked on the electrical modeling of the superconductive magnets of JT-60SA.
