Ahmed Sultan (S'95–A'99–M'07) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt, and the Ph.D. degree from the Electrical Engineering Department, Stanford University, in 2007. His thesis work was focused on the development of new models and signal analysis techniques to infer planetary surface parameters from data acquired by earth-based and spaceborne remote sensing experiments. He is an Assistant Professor at Nile University's Wireless Intelligent Networks Center (WINC), Cairo, Egypt. His current research interests are dynamic spectrum access, cognitive radio networks, physical layer-based secrecy, low-complexity MIMO receivers, and OFDM for optical communications.
